Masonic Home Union City: Volunteer with Us
The Masonic Home at Union City is a vibrant, 267-acre senior community nestled in the scenic hills of the East Bay. For over a century, we have provided compassionate care and a supportive environment for our residents, offering a wide range of services including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care.
Our volunteers are an important part of our senior communities in Union City, contributing their time and talents to enrich the lives of our residents and staff. If you're interested in volunteering, we offer a variety of opportunities that can be tailored to your interests, talents, and availability.
Volunteer Opportunities
No experience is needed for most roles, just a kind heart and a willingness to connect.
Resident-Focused Activities:
Companionship: Spend quality time with residents by visiting, chatting, and sharing stories.
Arts & Crafts: Help lead or assist with creative projects that spark joy and expression.
Music & Entertainment: Share your musical gifts by playing an instrument, singing, or helping to host engaging music programs.
Games & Activities: Lead popular games like bingo, trivia, cards, or other board games.
Escorting Residents: Provide assistance to residents as they travel to and from dining rooms, activities, and outdoor areas.
Department-Specific Roles:
Memory Care Program: Help create a vibrant and supportive environment for residents in our memory care unit.
Assisted Living (Pavilion): Assist residents in our assisted living facility with daily activities and social engagement.
Skilled Nursing (Lorber): Provide companionship and assistance to residents in our skilled nursing department. Please note that volunteers in this area must be 16 or older and attend a separate orientation.
In addition to these roles, there may also be opportunities in clerical support, transportation, or helping with special events and projects.
